My name is Dalton Baugess
I am a husband, father of two, professional firefighter and a 20-Year Roanoke resident.
I’m running for Roanoke City Council for one reason; Crime is out of control and I’m going to stop it. It’s time we support law enforcement, restore law and order and crack down on lawlessness.
I humbly ask for your vote on Nov 8th 2022
Today, I don’t like what I see: Our crime is at an alarmingly high rate. Our public schools are struggling as they feel the effects of a post-pandemic era. Our residents of Roanoke City are taking on more tax burdens. We have incomplete infrastructure projects. And our downtown business is shrinking while the homeless population is expanding.
It’s time for a change.
City Council’s neglect of the kitchen table issues that Roanoke families are worried about is inexcusable.
Our city’s present situation is partly due to a lack of leadership and poor decision making at City Hall. The sitting council members seem more concerned with electric cars, solar powered trash cans, tiny villages for the homeless, and increasing pay for their own expenses. Their lack of focus has left Roanoke with the current state of affairs mentioned above. Roanoke now has the 4th largest crime rate in Virginia.
